Product Recap - Panini Prizm Baseball
Panini released Prizm as a stand alone product for 2019. Last year, it was apart of the Chronicles product that contained about 15 different products. Prizm is a big part of Panini's legacy around the industry. Football and Basketball Prizm products are highly sought after and hold good value. Especially the basketball and rookies. For baseball, that will obviously be challenging without the licensing that allows them to use logos and full team names on the cards. It didn't stop them from trying...
In Prizm, the parallels are called "prizms" (think refractors for Topps). They offered 20 different Prizms for each base card. They have their own Blue Wave, Mojo, and Shimmer refractors. They also have fun ones called "Lime Green Donut Circles" and "Neon Orange Donut Circles". Some unique Prizms they offer are Zebra Stripe, Snake Skin, and Kaleidoscope.
The base set was broken up into 3 Tiers. The third tier being more rare and featured a lot of the legends in the set.
Check out some of the highlights...
Overall, The product was a blast to open. The only downside to me, was the lack of big autos. We had a lot of autos of the case and none were really stand outs. There was some low numbered autos but nothing major.
Here are some fun pulls from 2019 Prizm Baseball...
- Nolan Ryan Zebra Stripe /99 (also Neon Orange Donut Circles and Red Mojo)
- Brian McCann Auto
- Max Fried Auto
- Jacob Nix Blue Prizm Auto
- Daniel Ponce De Leon Zebra Stripe Auto /99
