2018 Topps Heritage High Number Variation Guide

Heritage is back with the High Number set, a follow-up to their successful release earlier this season. This set follow a lot of the same themes as the first set with one major tweak when it comes to identifying the variations. So many things to look for, but I'll try to make it easier for you when going through your Heritage High Number. The variations in this set are similar to the last set and include the following: Error, Nickname, Throwback Uniform, Trade Variations, Action Image (Hobby Only), and Team Color Swap Variations. Don't forget to look for the Short Print (SP) base cards.

What to Look For?

Like the low number series, so much to watch for. There is a base card short print. These cards are easy to find because they are card #’s 701-725. One big change they made, was they now print what type of variation in text near the card number (image below). Of course, you can still check the codes on the back, at the bottom (see below). Variations include Errors, that usually mimic an error from the original set. Errors also include the last name printed in a different color. Throwback variations are usually a fun card to get. Easy to find by the image on the front with the player in their teams throwback uniform. Heritage cards throwback to an old set, most of those sets had still images of the players, Topps does a variation with an action variation. There are also team color swap cards, where the card design has a different color scheme as the other team cards in the set. This year they did an All Star rookie trophy variation where the year says 1969. There is also a rookie variation where a player who was on a dual rookie card, has a stand alone variation. Lastly, the nickname variation, which displays a players nickname on the front of the card.
