Plans for 2019
Hello everyone! I thought this would be a good way to let everyone know some plans for the site in 2019. 2018 was a blur, in the best possible way. The website kept me busier than I ever imagined. A lot of really cool things happened this past year, and I still am shocked at the response to the site. Which brings me to the next purpose of this blog entry...
THANK YOU! To everyone that helped me with the site in anyway: for entering a break, buying a single, reading my email blasts, giving me suggestions or feedback, letting me bounce ideas off of you, shouting me out on social media, sending ME cards just to be nice, and so many more and I hope you all know who you are. It's been great getting to know so many of you, a part of starting the site that I didn't think to consider. Awesome added bonus.
BREAKS
Everything that I have been doing will not be changing. The mixers and smaller breaks will go on as they have been. Seeing how the Super Mixer filled up, I would like to do more of those. As well as higher end products. This will mostly pertain to MLB products. A few other things in the plans for breaking are...
- In addition to the larger mixers, I will be doing half-case breaks (see "cases" section below for more info).
- Schedule, would like to set certain days to always break, and have multiple breaks during those days. This will include breaks that would start a little later, and even some day breaks
- #makebaseballfunagain.com and I will be buying boxes to break live, and all singles we get will get put into the store.
CASES
The goal from now on, is to pre-order a minimum of one case of most major releases. So far, I have 2018 Bowman's Best, 2019 Topps Series 1 Jumbo, 2019 Heritage, and 2019 Gypsy Queen secured for when they are released. The plans once the case gets here will hopefully have a breakdown like this...
- a half-case break
- some used for mixers or a smaller break
- unopened boxes for sale on the site
- PLEASE NOTE - if there are boxes that you would like to make sure secure prior to release, please shoot me a message. If there are enough requests, I'll make sure to get more in!
SINGLES
The biggest change for The Card Swap in 2019 will be a partnership with Ryan and Jason at #makebaseballfunagain.com. With the success of the breaking side of the site, I don't have the time to put the proper attention to acquiring and listing more singles. Not if I want the site to get bigger, which I do. Ryan and Jason are going to stock and ship most singles for the shop. We are going to have a budget each month for adding new singles. Jason will focus on purchasing, while Ryan is going to run the inventory and posting. Here are some things to expect
- Consignment We are proud to offer an actual program for consignment! We are going make it as easy on you as we can. Check the link for the details if you are interested
- Buying Lots - If you are just looking to get rid of some of your cards, shoot us an email and let us know what you have to move and we can try and strike a deal that helps everyone.
- More Singles - With Jason focusing on purchasing, things will constantly be coming in to get posted. Ryan is adding cards most cards as it is. It's going to be a nice, easy cycle
- We will be doing some live breaks to check out new sets, and get some of the newest singles on the site.
Ryan and Jason started out as customers. And they are had their own baseball driven idea and site. The more we talked, the more we realized a lot of similarities and a lot of cross-over between the two sites. We hit it off. And here we are. They have already been listing and shipping their own singles, and it's been going extremely well! I really appreciate their help and relationship where we continue to motivate each other.
