Break Recap - 2018 New Vintage Mixer
We tried something new Monday night, with a break of new "vintage" styled products. This included a box of 2018 Topps Gypsy Queen, boxes of 2018 Topps Heritage and 2018 Topps Heritage High Number, and a box of 2018 Topps Archives. A total of five hits in this break, a lot of cool vintage styled cards, and a monster hit made this a fun one.
2018 Heritage and Heritage High Number were the first boxes we opened. The set features current players in the 1969 Topps design. 2018 Heritage gave us one of the biggest hits we've ever pulled. A really nice Reggie Jackson stamped buyback rookie card auto, numbered out of 10. A huge hit for the A's. 2018 High Number has a lot more rookies to pull in the same 1969 design. Our hit for this box was a relic of Daniel Murphy for the Nationals. Other nice cards from the Heritage sets were a Ronald Acuna Jr. variation for the Braves, a Lewis Brinson refractor for the Marlins, and a Zach Davies chrome refractor for the Brewers. A lot of nice retro cards, with the monster Reggie auto hit. Both Heritage sets also feature box toppers with three card panels, the first went to the Diamondbacks, the second to the Cardinals.
2018 Topps Archives features current and former players in three designs: 1959, 1977, and 1981 Topps. There are opportunities to pull autos from current players and rookies, as well as Fan Favorites autos from past players and autos of actors from the 1993 film The Sandlot. In this box we pulled one Fan Favorites auto and one Sandlot auto. The Fan Favorites auto was of Terry Steinbach(A's) in the 1992 Topps design, and The Sandlot auto was of Bertram "Grover" Weeks(actor Grant Gelt). Other notable cards were of Corey Knebel(purple border /175 for the Brewers and Max Kepler(silver parallel /99 for the Twins).
Finally, 2018 Gypsy Queen features two autos per box and also a box topper. Our box topper was a shiny Aaron Judge that features high quality art. For our two autos, we had a Lewis Brinson blue parallel out of 146 for the Marlins and a Jordan Montgomery for Yankees. For other cards, we pulled an Ozzie Albies rookie blue parallel out of 250, a Sonny Gray blue parallel out of 250, a Carlton Fisk shortprint, a logo swap variation of Travis Jankowski, a no team variation of Marcus Stroman, a rookie of Victor Robles with a Bazooka gum back, and a capless Rhys Hoskins variation.

This was a really cool mixer. A lot of nice looking and really stylish cards. Two autos for the A's, with the Jackson buyback auto being an absolute monster hit. Definitely a fun break overall.
