2024 Heading Towards 2025
Happy Holiday Season Everyone! Thought it was a good time for an update and let everyone know what's going on and what's coming up for The Card Swap.
Truth is, for 2025, I'm not too sure where to go with things. I'll be using the rest of this year to gameplan and refocus for next year. I'm overwhelmed with ideas and things I'd like to change so it's a matter of overthinking everything until the puzzle forms in my head.
Some of the ideas include finding help to come on board and relaunch the site to make it bigger and better. I just need help to it. I'm spread too thin with presence and would need to refocus on just a couple sources. 2024 was the slowest year for me since the site start, with 122 breaks. I fully understand a lot of it was the changes to the market and prices mixed with my unwillingness to buy into some of the money products that have hit the shelves. 2024 also was packed with some personal issues and stresses that definitely caused the site to suffer a bit.
I've met with a third party company that specializes in selling websites and businesses to find out more information to see if maybe I should sell to another team and move on to something else. Things are changing everyday day is seems with cards and it's more popular than ever, especially with the marketing engine behind Fanatics. I really just keep up on my own. I was approved to be on Fanatics Live but declined. I felt that my personality wasn't quite a fit for that kind of breaking. Which is also why I never felt I'd do well on WhatNot. So I just tried my hardest to keep things as close to as I've been doing as possible when things were cheaper. But after about 2 years of steady increases in price, we may have reached a cap in pricing where I can't keep doing what I'm doing. So changes need to be made and I'll see what I can do, because I really love this! It's been straight up depressing seeing my favorite hobby get turned into a huge money grab and see things change so much.

This is also a great time to thank everyone that has broken with me in the past or supported me in anyway! 6 years to date and over 1300 breaks is crazy to think about and I appreciate everyone that ever joined and helped me do this for this long. I've learned more doing this "job" than any other position I ever had. Learning while being around my favorite hobby and meeting so many amazing people has been a dream. A dream that I'm not ready to wake from yet...AB
