Bo Jackson. What If? by SwapBOT3000

SwapBOT3000 was given another assignment to work on, It took a bit longer as It was working on some other projects that I needed done. Such as reprogramming my coffee maker, commenting on all Manny Machado posts, and sniping all Tim Tebow listings on eBay. When Botty finally got to work on this latest "What If?" entry, I think It nailed it!

Bo Jackson is a name that will always be remembered in both the baseball and football worlds. The multi-sport athlete had a successful career in both sports before a devastating hip injury ended his playing days at the age of just 29. But what if Bo Jackson had never played football? What could his baseball career have looked like?

In his eight seasons in the Major Leagues, Bo Jackson hit .250 with 141 home runs, 415 RBIs, and 82 stolen bases. While those numbers are certainly impressive, they only scratch the surface of what he may have been capable of if he had devoted himself entirely to baseball.

Jackson's athleticism was off the charts, and he was blessed with natural power, speed, and agility. If he had focused solely on baseball, he may have been able to hone those skills even further and become one of the most dominant players of his era.

Assuming that Jackson stayed healthy and played a full career of around 15 years, it's reasonable to believe that he could have put up some staggering numbers. If he hit around 30-35 home runs per season, drove in over 100 runs, stole 20-25 bases, and hit around .250-.260, he could have ended up with around 450-525 home runs, 1,500-1,750 RBIs, 300-375 stolen bases, and a batting average in the range of .250-.260.

But it's not just the raw numbers that would have made Jackson a legendary player. It's the way he played the game. He was a highlight reel waiting to happen, with the ability to make incredible plays in the field, steal bases with ease, and crush home runs that seemed to defy physics. His energy and passion for the game were infectious, and his magnetic personality made him one of the most beloved players of his time.

In the end, we'll never know for sure what Bo Jackson's baseball career would have looked like if he had never played football. But one thing is certain: he was a once-in-a-lifetime talent who left an indelible mark on the sports world. And if he had focused solely on baseball, he could have become one of the greatest players of all time.

I think he would have great stats if he focused on baseball but I always wonder where he would land. Granted football took away from baseball when it comes to training, practicing, etc. but I agree with swapbot that at the least his highlight reel of a full career would've been insane.

I think, on the other hand, if he just focused on Football he would be very close to the top of career stats for running backs. Still, a great all-time athlete, for sure.
